Do not wait until the deadline. Voters are strongly encouraged to register, request a mail ballot, and return their completed ballot as early as possible.
Only registered voters may participate in the election.

Eligible residents who are not registered may register here. The deadline to register for the November 3, 2026 General Election is October 13, 2026. Voters are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible and not wait until the deadline.
Any registered voter may request a vote-by-mail ballot. Voters who previously selected the option to receive mail ballots for all future elections should automatically receive one unless they changed their preference.
Request a vote-by-mail ballot here. To receive the ballot through the mail, the County Clerk must receive the application by October 27, 2026. Voters may also apply in person at the County Clerk’s Office until 3:00 p.m. on November 2, 2026. Mail voters are strongly encouraged to request a mail ballot as soon as possible and not wait until the deadline

Voters are strongly encouraged to submit their mail ballots in a timely manner and not wait until the deadline. Vote-by-mail ballots cannot be returned at an early-voting site or an Election Day polling place.
In-person early voting will be available from Saturday, October 24, through Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Early-voting locations can be found here. Bergen County voters may vote at any designated early-voting location in the county. Early voting sites are different from a voter’s regular Election Day polling place.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
