About James

James “Jimmy” Kontolios is a longtime Ridgefield resident, small business owner, engineer, and experienced public servant.

A graduate of Ridgefield Memorial High School, James earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology and built a career in defense, wireless telecommunications, electronics, and information technology. He is the owner and president of DBK Chian Enterprises and AccelComm.

James served on the Ridgefield Borough Council from 2017 through 2025, focusing on public safety, infrastructure, and fiscal responsibility. He chaired the Police, Public Works, Communications, and Library Committees and worked closely with Ridgefield’s first responders, Department of Public Works, and community organizations. In 2024, James was selected by colleagues to be Council President.

During his nine years in office, James helped secure funding for borough improvements, supported upgrades to roads, parks, recreation facilities, and public buildings, and raised significant support for local recreation and community events. His service has been recognized by borough officials, residents, and first responders for the positive impact he has made throughout Ridgefield.

James is also a member of the New Jersey State Hellenic-American Heritage Commission and an active leader in the Greek-American community. He is running for Council in 2026 to continue delivering experienced, responsible, and community-focused leadership for Ridgefield.
